BR-3/31/14

Our next chapter is on Civil Rights. Do you think racism is still an issue in 2014? Write one paragraph

      Yes, because everyone is still racist against blacks, middle east, and Asian. Not to long ago a black family was kicked out of a restaurant because two white men said they were threatened. Everyday were talking bad about the middle east because of an incident in 2001. Were constantly talking about how we need to put an end to immigrants coming to America when all they do is the jobs we don't. So yes racism is still happening a lot.

BR-3/24/14

 Ebola outbreak has killed 59 people in Guinea, and they are afraid it might spread quickly to the rest of the country. UNICEF is sending medical supplies to the country. The disease is spread through infected people, objects from dead or infected and animals from a bush. Health officials are offering for free treatment for all patients.

supreme Court Case

 Religion:
Perich is a called teacher of religion she got sick and had to leave the school system for  awhile but was planning to return but the principal said for her to not come back because they replaced her already. perich went to the school and insisted that the principal give her a letter stating that she had showed up. The courts deiced to recall her calling so she filed a complaint with the Equal employment opportunity and they decided that they had abused the Americans with disability act. In the end the case was a simple civil rights case.

 Minority:
A group of Armed Extremists at Jarulbachai village in the night  set fire to twenty houses belonging to a group of linguistic minority community of Bengal settlers, in which 15 people lost their lives. It is believed that someone committed the acts alone. The assailant is part of a gang to take out minorities, and was sentenced to the death penalty. The case then went to court of appeals where they declared life in prison, and now they want him to spend only 20 years in prison. The supreme court should give him life in prison.

School System:
A school banned two girls wearing I Heart Boobies bracelets from a school dance. The girls took the case to the court of appeals. The judges ruled in their favor and now the school wants to take it to the supreme court. The supreme court said no.

Court tour

Ground Floor: press room is only used on days when Supreme Court releases opinions. Filing room over 8,000 petitions are sent in each year.

1st Floor: The Great Hall is used for memorial services for great justices. The Robe room is where Justices  put on their robes and shake hands and leave them room by rank.

2nd Floor: The John Marshall Dining Room is a private room just for the Justices. Justices Dining room is where they gather to have a informal but traditional lunch after a case.

3rd Floor: The SC Library contains the books of State and Federal Law.

Exterior: The Bronze Doors is a ceremonial opening to the Supreme Court.

What is your opinion of Flight 370's disappearance? Is this an issue that should concern America?
I think it's really weird and I'm just wondering if it was hijacked or maybe crashed. I feel that it is because it could be a hijacking which means it could mean another attack.

1.  Should pharmaceutical companies put people ahead of profits? Yes and no yes because it could save a life, no because it could put them at risk.

2.  Should government be able to compel pharmaceutical companies to provide life saving medicines? Yes because they can get it approved by the FDA.

I believe that taxes on the lower-income is really important.
